Winter Flowering Crocus


Genus: Crocus

Family: Iridaceae

Species: C. angustifolius





Common Names: Crocus.

Classification: Corm.

Height: 10cm (4inches).

Flowering: Mid winter through to spring.

Usage: Grow crocus at the front of winter and spring flowering borders or beds.

They are a must under trees and shrubs.

Perfect for growing in clumps in short grass in wildlife gardens.

Crocus make a splendid display in raised beds.

These winter flowering garden ( yard ) bulbs are ideal for rockeries, grow them in groups for best effect.

The use of crocus just goes on and on. Grow them in patio tubs and pots.

For a pure unadulterated pleasurable outlook grow them in window boxes. Especially kitchen window boxes, or other windows you spend a lot of time looking out of.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

Crocus also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any rich and very free draining soil.
