Summer Flowering Iris
Iris are native to a wide area of the northern hemisphere.
They are a large genus of bulbous or rhizomatous perennials.
Leaves are usually narrow, channelled, upright or sickled shaped.
Flowers are various in colour and usually have three inner and three outer petals.
These garden plants are so varied they can be used in most positions and conditions in your garden.

Species: I. crocea
Common Names: Iris.
Classification: Rhizome.
Height: 1m (36inches).
Flowering: Through spring and in to summer.
Usage: Grow them in spring and summer flowering borders or beds.
Grown in patio pots and tubs they make a nice spring and summer display.
They are excellent as cut flowers.
Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it.
They will also do well in partial shade.
Soil: Any rich, moist but free draining soil.
Propagation Methods: By division in late spring to early autumn.
