Classification: Tuberous perennial.
Height: 10cm (4inches).
Flowering: Throughout spring.
Usage: Grow cyclamen at the front of shaded spring flowering borders or beds.
Cyclamen are a must under trees and shrubs.
Grow cyclamen in clumps in short grass in wildlife gardens.
Cyclamen make a splendid display in raised beds.
Cyclamen are ideal for rockeries, grow them in groups for best effect.
The use of cyclamen just goes on and on. Grow them in patio tubs and pots.
Grow them in pots and keep them in unheated greenhouses or conservatories. Cyclamen grown in pots grouped together make an interesting display. Be careful of rising temperatures on sunny days when growing under glass.
Provide plenty of shade from the sun and plenty of ventilation.
Site: Cyclamen prefer shade from the sun.
Cyclamen does best when sheltered from cold winds.
Soil: Any rich and very free draining soil.
Propagation Methods: By seed in late summer or autumn.

Cyclamen self seed vigorously. Make the most of these self-seedlings.
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant them individually in to 75mm (3inch) pots filled with a potting compost (peat based or non peat based).
Grow on for one to two years and transplant to their final position in the garden.
