Plant Propagation
How to Scarify Seeds

Hard seeds such as acacia and dorinicum need to be scarified before sowing.

The hard coating of these seeds prevents water absorption and as a result the seeds will not germinate.

So, to overcome this, scarify, (break the hard outer seed coating with the use of a file, sandpaper or similar or make a small nick with a knife).

This allows water into the seed giving it a chance to start the germination process.

Another great tip to help you with the plant propagation of your garden plants.

They all help to give you plants free for life?
