Root Hairs

Root Hairs are vitally important, they increase a plants root surface area several times over which helps increase the absorption of water and nutrients.

Root hairs are an extension of the outer cells of roots and are easily broken. Care should be taken when digging up plants or repotting to avoid too much damage to the root system.

To return to Roots just hit your Back button or click here.
