How to Propagate and Grow
Persicaria


Persicaria originate from Europe, Asia and China and are a genus of rhizomatous perennials.

Leaves are oval and small, green with darker markings.

Floweres are tiny, cup or bell shaped in tightly grouped racemes.

Family: Polygonaceae

Species: P. affinis










Common Names: Himalayan fleece flower.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 25cm (10inches).

Flowering: From summer through autumn.

Usage: Ideal for edging of borders and beds.

Grow them under trees and shrubs for a dramatic effect.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any moist soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring or autumn.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 4 - 12 weeks.
