Perennial Rudbeckia


Rudbeckia originate from North America and are a genus of annuals and perennials.

Leaves are lance shape and midgreen.

Flowers are solitary, large, daisy like, with yellow petals and a dark conical centre.

Family: Asteraceae/Compositae

Species: R. hirta 'Toto'







Common Names: Coneflower, showy coneflower, black eyed Susan.

Classification: Perennial. (Hardy annual in UK).

Height: 25cm (10inches).

Flowering: From summer through autumn.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.

Rudbeckia makes an ideal cut flower.

Site: Rudbeckia prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Rudbeckia will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any rich and free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring or mid autumn.
