Common Names: Oriental poppy, poppy.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 90cm (36inches).

Flowering: From spring to mid summer.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.

Site: Papaver prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: Any free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in summer or spring.

You must sow these seeds immediately after collection.

This will increase your propagation rate dramatically.

Older seed is slow to germinate and the propagation rate is severely reduced.

Do not cover seeds with compost.

Cover seeds with a light covering of vermiculite.

Keep in light for germination.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 3 - 28 days.
