Oenothera originate from North America and are a genus of perennials with a species of around one hundred.
Leaves are oval, oblong or lance shape, toothed or deeply lobed.
Flowers are cup or occassionaly trumpet shape. Flowers can be solitary or in racemes. All flowers attract bees.

Time from sowing to germination: 3 - 28 days.

Oenothera self seed profusely, so make the most of this by lifting the seedlings and re-planting them where you want them to grow.
They self seed so profusely that they can become a problem. They could appear in any part of your garden.
