How to Propagate and Grow
Nepeta


Nepeta originate from the Caucasus region and Iran and is a genus of perennials.

Leaves are hairy, oval and round toothed edged.

Small floweres form in panicles and are hooded in shape.

Family: Labiatae/Lamiaceae

Species: N. nervosa










Common Names: Catmint, catnip.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 35cm (14inches).

Flowering: From spring through autumn.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.

They are excellent cottage garden plants.

Grow them in swathes at the edge of borders for a dramatic display.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in autumn.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 3 - 21 days.
