Genus: Milium

Family: Graminae/Poaceae

Species: M. effusum


Common Names: Golden grass, Bowles golden grass, wood millet.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 30cm (36inches).

Flowering: From spring through summer.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.

Milium are effective under trees or shrubs.
Grow milium as focal plants anywhere in your garden.
Try milium in patio tubs and pots for a splendid focal display.

Site: Milium prefer partial shade.

Soil: Any moist but free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: one month onwards.

Germination is very slow, so be patient!
