Common Names: Virginia cowslip.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 60cm (24inches).

Flowering: From spring through summer.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.

Planted in clumps mertensia are ideal in woodland garden settings. Or plant them in clumps under taller shrubs.

Site: Mertensia prefer partial shade.

Soil: Any moist but free draining, preferably sandy soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in late summer to autumn.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 3 - 28 days.
