How to Propagate and Grow
Malva


Malva originate from Eurasia and North Africa and are a genus of perennials.

Leaves are heart shaped, lobed and divided.

Flowers are either funnel or saucer shape and fluted borne on spikes.

Family: Malvaceae

Species: M. sylvestris












Common Names: Mallow.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 1.2m (48inches).

Flowering: From summer through autumn.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any rich, moist and free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Do not cover seeds with compost.

Cover seeds with a light covering of vermiculite to retain moisture and allow light through to the seeds.

Keep in light for germination.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 3 - 21 days.

How to sow seeds

Basal cuttings in spring or autumn.
