Species: L. salicaria


Common Names: Loosestrife, purple loosestrife, pink loosestrife.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 120cm (48inches).

Flowering: From summer through autumn.

Usage: Ideal for borders and beds that are very moisture retentive.

Lythrum are ideal bog plants and for planting at the edge of informal ponds.

Site: Lythrum prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Lytyrum will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any fertile and wet soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 3 - 8 weeks.
