How to Propagate and Grow
Lithodora


Lithodora originate from Europe and Asia Minor and are a species of perennials.

They are a small species of trailing plants with tiny, vibrant blue flowers which are borne in terminal cymes. They usually flower from spring and right through summer.

Leaves are a deep green, thin and eliptic in shape.

The small shrub L. oleifolia is evergreen in most temperate climates.

Where to plant info

This gardening plant is an essential ground cover plant for use at the front of borders and beds. It does not like root disturbance so make sure you plant it where it will not need to be lifted.

Ideal for edging borders and beds.

They are excellent in rock gardens.

Grow them at the edge of and in the cracks of crazy paving or in the crevices of dry stone walls for a dramatic effect.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: Humus rich, acidic and free draining soil.

By seed in spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 4 - 10 weeks.

How to sow seeds

By semi ripe cuttings in summer.
