Family: Juncaceae

Species: J. effusus


Common Names: Corkscrew rush, soft rush, spiral rush.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 30cm (12inches).

Flowering: Throughout summer.

Usage: Ideal for bog gardens. (Grow with care, juncus will spread and spread if left unchecked).

Juncus grown in patio tubs and pots make an interesting focal display.

Site: Juncus prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Juncus will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Moist and boggy, alkaline soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 6 - 12 weeks.

Can be slow to germinate, so be patient!
