How to Propagate and Grow Hemerocallis

Cultivar: 'Stafford'
Common Names: Daylily, day lily.
Classification: Perennial.
Height: 120cm (48inches).
Flowering: Throughout summer.
Usage: Ideal for borders and beds.
Site: Hemerocallis prefer full sun, they thrive in it! Hemerocallis will also do well in partial shade.
Soil: Any fertile and free draining soil.
Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.
Do not cover seeds with compost.
Cover seeds with a thin layer of vermiculite.
Keep in light to germinate.
Best germination temperature: 40 deg F.
Time from sowing to germination: 3 months onwards.
Very slow germinating, so be patient!
Germination is sparodic. Transplant your emerging seedlings as soon as they are large enough to handle.
Make sure you do not disturb the remianing seeds while transplanting.
