How to Propagate and Grow
Euphorbia


Euphorbia originate from Europe, The Americas, Africa and Asia and are a genus of perennials with around two thousand species.

Leaves are very varied in shape, colour and form, from broad and dark green to linear and grey green to lance shape and mid green.

Flowers are insignificant small cup shape borne in bracts.

Family: Euphorbiaceae

Species: E. griffithii









Common Names: Spurge, milkweed.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 90cm (36inches).

Flowering: From summer through to beginning of autumn.

Usage: A good general garden plant ideal for herbaceous borders and as general bedding plants.

Group five or more Euphorbia together for a great effect and a stunning display.

Or just planted as a single island plant in a focal position, for an alternative stunning effect.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Humus rich and free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in early to mid spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: extremly slow, 3 - 4 months onwards, so be patient!

How to sow seeds

By division in early spring.

By basal cuttings in early autumn.
