How to Propagate and Grow
Erythronium


Erythronium originate from Europe, North America and Asia and are a genus of clump forming tuberous perennials.

Leaves are basal, eliptic and semi erect. They are usually mottled with white or maroon marks.

Flowers are nodding, pendant, bell shape and can be single or upto ten on each upright stem.

Species: E. tuolumnense









Common Names: Dogs tooth violet, California fawn lily.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 30cm (12inches).

Flowering: From early spring to early summer.

Usage: Ideal for the front to middle of borders and beds.

They are great in woodland settings or rock gardens.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Fertile, acidic and free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 6 - 15 weeks.

How to sow seeds

By division after flowering.

By offsets in early autumn.
