How to Propagate and Grow
Erysimum


Erysimum originate from Europe and are a genus of perennials.

Leaves are dark, mid green or greyish green and lance shape.

Flowers are borne on tight racemes on single tall stems.

They are related to Cherianthus (the common wallflower) and are known as perennial wallflower and alpine wallflower.

Family: Brassicaceae/Cruciferae

Species: E. bicolor














Common Names: Perennial wallflower, alpine wallflower, wallflower.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 75cm (30inches).

Flowering: From early spring through to late summer.

Usage: Ideal as general bedding plants.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: Any rich and free draining soil.


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germiantion: slow and sparodic, 2 months onwards, so be patient!

How to sow seeds

By heeled softwood cuttings from spring through to autumn.
