How to Propagate and Grow
Doronicum


Doronicum originate from Europe and Asia and are a genus of perennials.

Leaves are heart shape and hairy.

Flowers are daisy like, some are double.


Genus: Doronicum

Family: Asteraceae

Species: D. orientale





Common Names: Plantain, Leopard's bane.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 80cm (32inches).

Flowering: From spring through to summer.

Usage: Ideal for general borders.

Grow towards the front of borders that have been planted with shrubs for a dramatic effect.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any rich and free draining soil that has been dug deep, (they like to put their roots down a long way).


Propagation Methods: By seed in spring.

Scarify seeds before sowing(opens in new window) .

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 2 - 14 days.
