How to Propagate and Grow
Dictamnus


Dictamnus originate from Southern Europe and are a genus of perennials.

Leaves are spiny and give off a lemon scent.

Flowers are borne on long loose racemes and are scented.


Genus: Dictamnus

Family: Rutaceae

Species: D. albus


Common Names: Burning bush, dittany, gas plant.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 90cm (36inches).

Flowering: Throughout the summer.

Usage: Ideal for herbaceous borders.

Site: Grow them in full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: An alkaline soil that is free draining.


Propagation Methods: By seed in autumn.

Best germination temperature: 75 deg F.

Use only fresh seed (sow immediately after collecting) or they will not germinate.

Time from sowing to germination: 12 - 20 weeks.

Slow at germinating, so be patient!

How to sow seeds
