Classification: Perennial succulent.
Height: 15cm (6inches).
Flowering: Mid winter.
To encourage flowering at Christmas keep Kalanchoe in the dark for around five hours a day during summer.
Short days brings the plant into bud.
When buds appear, during mid autumn, move the plant to it's final position for flowering at Christmas.
Usage: Interesting and attractive indoor flowering plant.
Ideal as a Christmas gift for family, loved ones and friends or a treat just for yourself.
Makes an excellent Christmas table decoration.
Site: Requires full light, but shaded from direct sunlight.
Maintain a temperature around 60 deg F. for flowering.
In dormant period maintain a temperature around 55 deg F.
Mist Christmas flowering Kalanchoe frequently to improve humidity.
Soil: Any good quality houseplant compost (peat based or non peat based).
Propagation Methods:
By seed in spring.
Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.
