How to Propagate and Grow Astilbe
Astilbe originate from China, Japan and Korea.
They are a genus of clump forming, rhizomatous perennials which are grown mainly for their panicles of flowers.
But their leaves are just as attractive and showy as their flowers, being toothed and diveded into leaflets.

Common Names: Astilbe.
Classification: Perennial.
Height: 60cm (24nches).
Flowering: Through summer to early autumn.
Usage: Ideal for borders and beds that retain moisture.
They are excellent at the back or sides of informal ponds and will also do very well in bog gardens.
Site: Grow in full sun, they thrive in it!
They will also do well in partial shade.
Soil: Any rich and free draining soil that retains moisture well.
Propagation Methods: Division in autumn or winter.
